Interesting news for couples who want to have children: At the CES - the electronics trade fair in Las Vegas - a so-called "ovulation tracker" was presented that determines the fertile days in the female monthly cycle.

The sensor is worn on the wrist at night, measures nine different vital signs of the body and is synchronised with a special app in the morning. According to the manufacturer, the probability with which the "wearable" detects the fertility window is 89.9%. This would make the high-tech wristband significantly more reliable than ovulation calculators, temperature methods or other cycle apps.

In February, the new ovulation tracker will be launched on the European market. The smart device will be offered to couples who want to have children and increase their chances of successful fertilisation. Provided that the accuracy of the measurement results can still be improved, it is also conceivable that it could be further developed into a practical contraceptive method.
