Chlamydia test for women under 25

For all our young patients (up to the age of 25), we perform an annual chlamydia test, which is covered by statutory health insurance.
Genital chlamydia infection is the most common sexually transmitted bacterial disease worldwide. The infection usually runs its course without any particular symptoms, but in women there is a risk of pelvic inflammatory disease. Consequential diseases may include sterility and chronic lower abdominal pain. The test is performed with the help of a urine sample, as pathogens can be reliably detected in urine. Chlamydia infection can be treated with antibiotics and usually heals without consequences. However, if damage has already occurred before treatment, it cannot be reversed by treatment.
